The Small Gobi Protected Area boasts a wealth of archaeological and paleontological historical finds, along with petroglyphs in its vicinity. Notable examples include the Five Trees, Baga Shar, and Shiree Khar petroglyphs along the Lugi River, the Khairkhan Tsohio petroglyphs, West Script petroglyphs, East Script petroglyphs, Zos Jargalant Ruins, and the Toliin Zuu monument located in Khatan Bulag Sum.

Rock monument of Khakhuuli river

The Khahuul River is located 5 km southeast of the Tsagaan Dersen outpost. The petroglyphs carved on the granite on the side of the dry riverbed are known as the Khahuuli River Rock Monuments. The peculiarity of this rock monument is that it depicts animals, beasts and wings, as well as peculiar face masks, constellations, and a woman giving birth.
